Message This past week/weekend I took some time off for some much needed R&R and headed down to Gatlinburg with some friends. I've told the lady I am seeing about the Tail of Dragon on multiple occassions and how much I enjoy it and when she found out how close we were to it she said, "Let's hit it!"

Don't have to tell me twice! So off we went. Of course I didn't have the Z down there, it is nice and tucked away until a warmer time as seen here:

What I had was my daily driver which is an 04 Infiniti M45 and I've always wanted to give it a bit of a work out so this was the perfect opportunity. I have to say that it performed much better than I ever imagined it. I love that car, it is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. =)

Anyways, I basically had the entire road to myself. In going all the way up and back (13 miles each way), we saw a total of 12 cars...yes I did say 12. It was just such a blast to get out there and pound the pavement some, although my brakes didn't really appreciate it as I could smell them when we stopped to make the turn back. I wasn't exactly ready to make such a drive so I didn't get a chance to swap the pads out. :)

One update I wanted to give everyone who is planning on going to ZDayZ this year is that one of the things that took away from the experience last year for me was the condition of the road, particularly on the N. Carolina side. It was pretty rough and lots of broken patches. I am happy to report that all those problems have been addressed and their is some nice blacktop where most of those patches were.

Even with all the leaves gone, there's still a lot of beautiful views as seen here:

I guess there is no real point to my post here except that I wanted to say how happy I am that I got to get out on the road and leave winter behind, even if it was just for a couple of hours.

Finally, as we were coming back on Foothills Parkway, I remembered a picture I took of the Z with a nice view of the mountains in the background and I thought how neat would it be if I could replicate that with the M? Well, here is my attempt. The lighting is very different and I was going totally from memory but here we go:

Original picture of the Z:

and now the M:

I plan on making these poster sized and hanging them in the garage.

Okay, my pointless post is over and winter may resume....

Hope everyone is doing great and staying warm.
